Kazakhstan Rating Project
In December 2002, Kazkommerts Securities and
Interfax Kazakhstan have started domestic (internal) credit rating project to
introduce modern risk assessment and management techniques into the local
capital and financial markets. The project aims to provide the general
public and investors with reliable information and analytical assessment of the
prospects of the economic sectors in Kazakhstan and creditworthiness of the
companies and enterprises that issue fixed term instruments and bonds.
Kazkommerts Securities does the analytical and appraisal part, while
Interfax Kazakhstan uses its informational resources to disseminate and publish
the ratings.
Kazkommerts Securities’ credit ratings
help potential investors get the borrower’s overall picture, its weak and
strong sides, and to react promptly to the changing financial situation.
On the other side, for the borrower credit rating gives an opportunity to
evaluate the relative cost of funding and choose the best available financing
